Diverse Learner Unit Project – Overall, how did it go? What did you learn? How will making accommodations (and getting serious about it) affect how you will (do) plan for your future teaching?      You cannot accommodate all kids all of the time, but quality, constructivist classrooms get close...varying instruction and differentiating learning are the best you can often do. How do you think focusing on creating the most effective lessons possible can help the most students? How did doing this unit facilitate that kind of learning and teaching?  Blog by Wednesday, July 5 th and respond by Friday, Jan. 7 th  

    Read/skim Ch. 5 (Teaching Students with Learning Disabilities) in the text. Write a paragraph or two about how the material can/should help you with this unit. Now DISCUSS via blog.  Blog by Wed. June 21 st  and respond by Friday June 23rd. 

How did it feel to create a quiz, to create a crossword, and to consider how you were assessing their learning and abilities? What would you do differently now, if you could? Why peer assess (creating and implementing)? Answer each question! Now that you have done a couple of different types of assessments, weigh in on why formative assessment is better than summative (good time to google if you're not sure of the difference). Note that formative assessment is generally created with student learning in mind and summative assessments are written with teachers and grades in mind. Post your top three choices for Position Paper potential topics (I want you two to pick something different!). So list those three topic choices and say which you MOST want to do, then make your arguments for the topic you most prefer to research and write about...what motivated you to pick it? You have now applied various types of learning and teaching: Creating learning strategies activities Blogging Assessing Evaluating one another  Now that you are really delving into evaluating and assessing activities and one another, consider h ow you will accommodate peer evaluation in your classroom. How will or did activities like learning strategies, blogging, peer- and self-assessing open your eyes to how differently we all learn and interact with the concept of learning? (If we were in a face-to-face class, you all would also be jigsawing, whiteboarding, etc.) How important is it to let students play a role in assessment (whether peer assessing, creating their own learning strategy activities, or even writing their own quizzes)?  Blog by Sunday night June 11, and respond to your classmates by Tuesday, June 13th.
